Hi friends! I am back with another blog. Must say, in this corporate job and erratic lifestyle, blogging is the only excuse to sanity... apart from my umpteen travel plans and the urge to shed the unwanted weight surrounding my belly and arms. 

There’s so much going on in life these days that taking out time for dancing or joining a gym looks far away. But, that doesn’t mean one cannot take some baby steps to a better life. Wouldn’t you agree?

This is my road map and god forbids if I abide by it, my old dresses shall fit me again. Fingers crossed.

• Drinking lukewarm water every morning before eating anything

I have been following this for about more than a week now (diligently!) thanks to my mom. You can add lemon and honey to this if plain water is not your thing. It is said to cleanse your digestive system, leads to better bowel movements and gives you a glowing and clearer skin. Now who doesn’t want all this?

• Get your body checked

You need to be sure of what’s causing your body to be ill often, weight gain (if any), fatigue, etc. I resorted to a blood check-up last weekend from Thyrocare. Reasons, plenty!

1. My weight was increasing at a rapid speed
2. Weight gain led to lesser stamina
3. More exhaustion

The Thyrocare service was well affordable, at-home service at my convenience and hassle-free. I will be doing a separate blog on my experience with them in the coming week :)

• Get yourself some shoe-spiration

For me, a little shopping helped! They say; feet take you around the world. It takes you back and forth, keeps you upright. Makes you dance, walk, run, do many things in life! What I wanted for them was a comfortable piece of support for running over the weekends (well, these are the only 2 days I can afford; rest of them am running to work).

• Eat and Drink right

Well, I keep myself away from Tea and Coffee. Tea happens over the weekends with family, once a day and coffee… once a month? So, caffeine is out. No alcohol! I have resorted to ordering a glass of lime juice (mixed – don’t go for sweet only) when my friends/colleagues order any aerated drink or alcohol. Lime Juice/Water (without soda) is fresh, makes you feel at calm, and cleanses your body.

Am off cheese for some time. For people who know me personally, know how much I LOVE pizza. From eating Pizza about every fortnight, I do that once a month. If I go out, I make sure that my order contains no cheese. Somehow I feel my diet outside (my job makes me do this) has given this excess body weight which I completely hate (well, that rhymed).

• Dance

I walk about 30 minutes every day plus make sure that my body dances for about 15 minutes every morning after getting up or before sleeping at night. Either ways, it is a blessing. If mornings, dancing makes you feel light and more composed during the day. You feel more energetic and concentrated towards your work. If at night, expect a good night’s sleep!

• Keep smiling and keep the stress away

Make sure you go out with friends often. Spend time with family and laugh, enjoy every moment as much as you can. Taking office work home, not getting enough sleep, crying to bed, arguing, anger, fights, they all lead to stress. And you do not want that. Stress not just shows on your face and makes it age faster but it also affects your body in a bad way.

These are some of the small changes that I have added to my routine and have promised myself to keep doing as long as I can. After all, all those old dresses are waiting in the closet to come out some day and enjoy the Mumbai monsoon!

Oriflame Sun Zone UV Protector

Summers can be torturous. Especially with an unbearable sunlight hitting your delicate skin. No matter how many layers of clothes, shades or umbrella you move around with, the sun can damage your skin bad.

I for one swear by my sunblock because a lot of sunscreen did not live upto my expectations. A week back, I started using the 'Oriflame Sun Zone UV Protector Face and Exposed Areas SPF 50 High' only for the sole reason to try it out!

What does the Product claims?

It protects skin against skin damage, premature ageing and appearances of sun induced pigment spots. High level of sun protection has been specially developed for delicate or fair skin.

How to use?

• Apply sunscreen generously 30 minutes before sun exposure
• Re-apply after every 2 hours (if you are going to stay in the sun)
• Reapply after sweating, swimming and towelling.

Packed in a light white coloured tube, the sunscreen is priced at 799/- INR for a 50 ml. Dermatological tested, I have used this product for over a week to give this review to you all.

The first thing everyone notices about a cream is its fragrance and this product has a peculiar one. It is mild and not overwhelming like other creams. It stays on for a few minutes and is gone the next. The consistency is not creamy but a little runny at times. Suggest you to go easy while pressing and only take a small amount as that would be sufficient for the face.

The cream is non-greasy and doesn't leave any white patch behind. I had a problem with several creams doing that and completely hated it. A moisturiser in itself, this doesn't require a base or coat. Having said that, I feel the cream is not for the people with oily skin. If you have a dry or combination type, this one's your pick.

The Plus:

• UVA/UVB Filters - UVA and UVB are two radiations which harm the skin the most and this cream offers a filter to prevent both
• Helps soothe and moisturise skin
• Is Water Resistant 
• Non-greasy and patchy

I have never really been a perfume person. In the past 25 years of my existence, I have bought a perfume only once. Most of the times, I borrow perfumes from my sister and rest of the times, I go by my body moisturiser and a body mist. So, what made me get this one?

The first reason of buying this perfume bottle was its beautiful shape. A round pot base with a plastic cap, in dark red hue is a treat to apply. However, one has to be really careful while handling the bottle and not hold it with the cap as it might get loosened and fall.

The scent is a beautiful mix of sweet spicy and woody notes. Floral and feminine, the perfume does make it to my Must have party accessory. Even though the perfume fragrance doesn’t stay on for more than 3 hours, it is sure to guarantee you a pampered and romantic evening.

Nature's Co Jasmine Body Wash | Review

Is the Holi weekend planned already? Here's something for you to begin it on a beautiful note!

Weekends call for a long time spent under the shower giving the much needed relaxation and love to your body. In my case, this recent entrant in my bathing essentials is ' Nature's Co. Jasmine Body Wash' makes the experience aromatically wonderful!

Nature's Co. Body Wash is a 100% Natural Product and is PETA approved (double whammy indeed!). I have been using this product for over a month now & it is simply lovely.

The key ingredient of the body wash is Jasmine. It also contains aloe vera & glycerine. Packed in a rectangular bottle, the body wash is aromatic and only a small amount is sufficient for foam and soothing bath.

The skin definitely feels smoother after the wash & the sweet Jasmine fragrance lingers on for a few hours.

Pros:

Review: Oriflame Giordani Gold Jewel Lipstick

It’s Sunday evening and if you ask me of what helps me fight Monday blues, it has got to be my Red Lipstick. A hint of it on my lips and the day lifts up in no time! The lipstick am talking about here is the Oriflame Giordani Gold Jewel Lipstick in Red Attraction.

First thing first, the packaging of the Lipstick is stylish! The metal case is exquisite and luxurious. Available in 8 other colours, I picked up Red Attraction. Reasons are quite a few:

1. RED lipsticks are my favourite.
2. RED goes with every skin tone.
3. RED complements every outfit.

Garnier Fructis Oil-in-cream comes in a sturdy, soft yellow plastic tube with a flip flop lid. Easy to carry without any fear of leakage or spillage. 

A prominent scent of coconut oil, this product can be used either as hair oil or conditioner.

I have an oily scalp and dry ends, hence using it as a conditioner works better for me. The cream is rich in texture and gives consistency.

Hi everyone! I am back to blogging after a small brreaak (I take too many of those!). What we have with us today is the cure to what we girls deal with, every single day – Acnes, Pimples, Blackheads, skin problems.

My experience:

The product smells exactly like its core ingredients – Neem and Tulsi.

I used the product for 7 days and realised that a peanut size is enough for application on your face.

It has a little runny consistency, takes a little time to create foam and sticks to your skin. You might need to take a min or two extra to clean it properly off your skin.

Face feels clean and fresh after the use. I have a normal to oily skin and this product does make my skin feel ‘open’ and a little on the dry side, which is actually a benefit!

Since my skin is prone to acne and breakouts, definitely going to use this product every day and get rid of all the germs.

Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition #HappyHairChallenge

Hello everyone!

How many of you love challenges? I do! Not that I take them often, but if interesting enough, don’t let go too. Garnier emailed me a few days back about the 30 Days Happy Hair Challenge and I have taken the same happily!

Been a few months that I have been trying hair products to get the one which suits my hair type perfectly. May be I end up getting accustomed to this, may be not? Let’s do this!

So here I am accepting the challenge, writing about my current hair condition & sharing with you. Hair is something that I often tend to neglect. Haircut, once in 6 months, that’s all I have ever done to my hair apart from experimenting with different hair products. Plus there are so many products in the market which are not meant for you hair type and end up doing damage. Hence, all the more necessary to find that perfect partner to your tresses, after all they need utmost attention and care too.

• My hair is moody, dry and frizzy. 
• I wash my hair twice a week and oil once a fortnight. Oiling is 3-4 hours before I wash my hair or sometimes overnight. 

I have been fighting dandruff since almost half a year now, which just doesn’t go. Not at all. Tried so many products. If one product helps me fight frizziness, the other makes it a little manageable or just glows up my waves but not even gives everything together. Sigh.

My current hair texture is Light Brown. I have never coloured my hair. 

Evaluation of current hair:
