10 things to know before you move to Mumbai

A place for all - Mumbai

People from all over India visit Mumbai every day. Some stay and some leave only to come back. If you are planning on moving to this city or are here already, these 10 things are just what you need to know –

1. It rains a lot and by a lot I mean… a lot. There will be no greater feeling to you than the luxury of dry feet for those Monsoon months. The best time to show off those colorful umbrellas, raincoats and boots.

2. Mumbai will grow on you and so will the Bambaiya Hindi, bole toh Rapchik tapori language. Add these words to your vocabulary – Gardi, Bidu, Tapri, Khopcha, Faadu, Chindi, Waat lageli hai and more.

3. There will always be crowd at stations like – Andheri, Dadar and Kurla. You are never alone.

4. Mumbaikars always talks about 3 things – Traffic, Crowd and Weather. 24*7!

5. Mumbai is expensive. Got a place? Lucky! You might actually be living with 56 people all from various states.

6.  In every vicinity you will find a Vada Pav or Anda BHurji wala, even at 4 am.

7. You will learn to dodge crowd on Foot over Bridges, Local train doors, on the road, on the platforms; the list is endless.

8. Mumbai never sleeps. Yes, that’s true. Put it on repeat.

9. Every time you will sit on the Marine Drive you will realize, Holy Shit! I Live in Mumbai!

10. The city prepares you for the best and the worst at the same time. Once you live here, you can live anywhere.

Rules of Love: Follow? May be.

Rule #1
Don´t get too
attached.
I tell this to myself too much,
but of course I end up
falling for someone too easily.

Rule #2
If attached, don´t
overthink everything they say.
I couldn't fall asleep because
I was so happy when I thought we had a chance.

Rule #3
If overthinking, don't fall in love.
I remember the first night I
realized you were someone really
special to me.

Rule #4
If in love, don´t overdo it.
Did I say too much? I'm sorry
I think I scared you away

Rule #5
If overdid, don´t fuck up the rest.
I fucked up the rest.

#JustIn: Fair & Lovely BB Cream

I don't have a makeup routine, nor do I spend hours going through a catalogue looking for the makeup right for my skin. Few days back, Fair & Lovely called us bloggers for an afternoon celebrating beauty. As the day culminated after a series of fun activities & conversations with fellow bloggers - the team took us through the beginning of Fair & Lovely's BB Cream's Journey.

If you’re still using the same creamy, medium coverage foundation you swore by all spring, it’s time to lighten up. After so many BB creams in the Indian market now a days, It is time you pick the right one for your skin.

Fair & Lovely BB cream is actually a dual purpose product as this has the goodness of vitamin infused fairness cream and a slight touch of coverage making the skin looks better than before. So, is Fair & Lovely BB cream a hit or miss? Read on...

Price: Rs.79 for 18g Available

Packaging:

The new Fair & Lovely BB Cream comes in a rose gold outer packaging & comes in a handy tube that is easy to carry around. Win win for me!

Coming on to the review, the best part about the Fair & Lovely BB cream is that it has been specifically made for the Indian skin tone and the shade suits everyone.

  • Lightweight and absorbs easily.
  • With BB creams, I have always found that they leave a patch on my skin - this one - doesn't!
  • I travel almost 3-4 hours everyday and the fact that this cream lasts for about 2-3 hours on my skin, which is okay.
Have an oily skin? Its claim of having a matte effect might be the best thing for you! What's more? The cream has SPF 15, which provides you sun protection for adequate hours.

In case you have a sensitive skin, please avoid.

This is how it works

If you are in Mumbai, it can definitely withstand the humidity. Try once! :)

Coming on to my unique look with this? Has got to be what I sported that day at the event!

  • A fresh and flirtatious casual look for summer as well as Monsoon!
  • Go minimal.
  • Wear what is comfortable - just like the Fair & Lovely BB cream which is not just light on your skin but gels with it.
  • Go for accessories - colorful ones' which uplifts your look in this gloomy weather.
  • Stay safe!

Product Review: Garnier Neem Tulsi Pure Active High Foaming Face Wash

Hi everyone! I am back to blogging after a small brreaak (I take too many of those!). What we have with us today is the cure to what we girls deal with, every single day – Acnes, Pimples, Blackheads, skin problems.

Introducing the Garnier Neem Tulsi Pure Active High Foaming Face Wash! I know, the name is quite long, but what this product has to offer is really good.

We all know how beneficial Tulsi and Neem are to not just our skin but to our overall body health. And this product, gives you exactly that, a combination of the best duo in town to cure your skin problems.

Neem and tulsi always works wonder for pimple prone skin, because Neem has an anti-bacterial power and Tulsi? It cleanses your body.

Let’s get into the nitty gritty of this product:

This Garnier Neem Tulsi Pure Active High Foaming Face Wash is made for daily use (twice every day). If you have pimples, blackheads or acne prone skin, then this product is something that might just work wonders to your skin.

Traditionally, Neem is known to cleanse skin, heal pimples and acne and this product claims to reduce 99.9% of all your skin germs.

Price of the product: Rs 60/- for 50 ml

Shelf life: 36 months

Neem proves to be a miracle for people with problematic skin. Thanks to its anti- fungal and anti- bacterial properties, it is a boon for people with sensitive or oily, acne prone skin. It clears Acne, prevents recurrence of blackheads, treats skin infection, prevents Acne breakouts, clears Skin and adds glow to the skin.

When it comes to Tulsi, because of its purifying and antiseptic qualities, it is also beneficial for skin. It helps to fight pimples, acne and eczema. A toner made by boiling Tulsi leaves can be applied on pimples. This not only eliminates pimple but also smooth outs the skin, leaving a radiant glow on face.

What the product promises:

It contains the goodness of 2 natural ingredients : Neem and Tulsi. High Foaming Face Wash that fights Oil and Removes 99.9% Pimple Germs*. Gentle formula for daily use.

My experience:

The face wash comes in a transparent flip flop cover bottle with sturdy packaging which makes it easy for one to carry while traveling.

The product smells exactly like its core ingredients – Neem and Tulsi.

I used the product for 7 days and realised that a peanut size is enough for application on your face.

It has a little runny consistency, takes a little time to create foam and sticks to your skin. You might need to take a min or two extra to clean it properly off your skin.

Face feels clean and fresh after the use. I have a normal to oily skin and this product does make my skin feel ‘open’ and a little on the dry side, which is actually a benefit!

Since my skin is prone to acne and breakouts, definitely going to use this product every day and get rid of all the germs.

Pros:
  • Affordable
  • Good packaging, taking it wherever am going
  • Core ingredients are really good: Tulsi and Neem
  • Good for oily skin
  • Removes excess oil and dirt off your skin
  • Recommended for daily use
Cons:
  • Not meant for dry skin
  • Makes my skin feel a little sticky before washing the face
The product is going to hit the markets, in June! Make sure you try it once.

Until then,
Keep the wanderlust on!
